Golf Shoes on Courses

Post by jimmyp »

Can somebody (Westygolfpro or friend!!) let me know whether any of the courses have restrictions on Metal spikes in golf shoes. I have a pair of shoes out in Portugal with metals and was wondering whether a spare set of black widows or the like would be a wise investment if I was to venture out on the links?

I beleive that metal SpiKes are no allowed on many courses and certainly frowned on almost everywhere.
We changed to plastic years ago.

Hi Jimmy,

I have it on good authority, soft spikes only, unless you are Tiger Woods or someone of that ilk, in which case you can do what you want.

Have just spotted the golf subsection in the Events and Activities forum so will ask all other relevant q's through there!

Must have been my golf swing's striking similarity to T Woods that helped :-)
