Churrasqueira das Cardosas

Post by bifas 1st darling! »

This place deserves a mention, had a great lunch there yesterday. It's SO clean, you should see the washrooms ladies, amazing

Covert olives, cheese, bread, butter and sardine paté
2 x vegetable soup
not much you can say about veg soup, but it was very nice and served out af a terrine at the table

1 x mixed kebab
Wow, it's enormous, beef, pork, chicken, linguiça, chouriço, green pepper, onion and tomato on a special stand that had pineapple, peach and grated carrot. Served with rice and chips. The chicken wasn't cooked through enough so ask for it "bem passado"

1 x roast suckling pig
I was told it was good (I don't like it) served with sliced fried potatoes, salad and the peppery sauce.

1x doce de casa
Biggest dessert I've ever seen, far too much. No, I didn't eat it just tried a spponfull :)

1 x 1,5 Lt water
7 Fontes

1 x small jug of house wine
Pias

Came to just over 35 euros, which is a bit expensive for lunch but well worth it :D

The menu is quite interesting with things like Wild Boar in a Pot with Dates and Picanha with Fruit, the dishes are mostly grilled.

How to get there, it's Portimão well Cardosas actually!
Go past the hospital towards Portimão, DON'T go down through the tunnel (Continente direction) go over when you get to the roundabout take the first turning up to the right, you can see the restuarant from the roundabout. Finding somewhere to park is probably the most difficult part of finding this place.

They also do take away, as you walk in take one of the paper tickets like in the supermarket, it's right in front of the door.

they have a site which I haven't looked at yet it's www.churrasqueiradascardosas.com

See, I do give good reviews

Not sure whether to add it to FAQ or not. I don't have any others in Portimão :?:

There was I imagining olives, disguised as grapes, wearing dark glasses.

Don't worry about me - I'll be alright when the medication kicks in!
