They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot

Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Hey farmer, farmer, put away your DDT
I don't care about spots on my apples,
Leave me the birds and the bees
Please
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey now, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?

Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Listen, late last night, I heard the screen door slam
And a big yellow taxi took my girl away
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Well, don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey hey hey
Paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

I don't wanna give it
Why you wanna give it
Why you wanna giving it all away
Hey, hey, hey
Now you wanna give it
I should wanna give it
Now you wanna giving it all away

Hey, paved paradise to put up a parking lot

Hey cowboy, you beat me to it!!! I’ve been thinking of posting these very lyrics. The song’s been going round in my head for the past couple of weeks, especially the verse above. Must be because it’s been covered 33 years on. (and I like the way see em rhymes with museum)

Hey cowboy, didn’t I see you on the road to Woodstock???

And that is exactly what they have done with a large proportion of the Petrified forest on Lesvos :?

Digger, I'ed like to tell you all about it, but there is a small problem:

"If you can rember the 60's, you wern't fully participating"

From what I can tell from surviving eye-witnesses and the few documents that wern't used as rolling papers, I seem to have participated quite a bit in those days. :?

OOPS  --just re-read my last post here "banging away on skins"---of course I meant your drum kit Coop!
Course theyre not over Gerry--we're all still here re-living it aren't we :)
Any minute now --expect some younger persons will come on here and call us a sad lot--but it'll only be jealousy wont it?
Great groups ---and thanks Coop --for reminding me it was "The Byrds" who gave us "Hey Mr Tambourine Man"!
And lucky you --through your music career --to have met some of them--the BeachBoys for one :!:
watched one of my idols last week -David Bowie--still sounding good :
Sorry to have got away from Martins original topic----but more fun than golf courses :)
