Post by hasthorped »

Coming over for 10 days 7th October, anyone got a suggestion for good seafood restaurants within reasonable driving distance of CVO?

Try the restuarant on the seafront at Alvor called Resteringue, and the one on the beach at Bergau, the one on Grande Prai at Ferragouda, Fishermans cottage at Benegil.
Might see you around as we are there from the 6th, hopefully wearing our badges

If you book and are prepared to pay a reasonable amount, then there is nothing better than Ruis in Silves. There is no comparison to the other local seafood restaurants which just sell a bit of fish. Ruis sells proper sea food - crayfish, lobster etc - fantastic!

Take a look at this link and the info I gave in my posting at 22.02.07 viewtopic.php?t=10959
Or this one:
Pintadinho Beach, Ferragudo €€
One of the best beach restaurants in the western Algarve and very popular with locals. Excellent grilled fish and a great house salad with roasted peppers. Speciality dishes include a first class cataplana of pork and clams and monkfish rice stew (arroz de tamboril). Open every day for lunch and dinner, closed during the winter months. Tel: 282 461 659

and very nice Service from the Boss Jose

Something not quite right there! The "boss" Vitor is on the grill, his son João is behind the bar and João Luis ( a cousin) is on the tables
