Long term Car Hire.

Post by MikeS »

Does anyone know of, or could recommend a Car Hire Company who provides a reasonable price for Hiring a Car in the Algarve, for say up to 6 weeks at a time, at any time throughout the year?
I understand from a friend of mine that Hertz had such a deal in Spain this past Summer, but I haven't managed to come across any such deals in the Algarve.
Also, do YOR just hire cars at Faro Airport or do they also hire cars at Lisbon Airport?

I hire a car for up to 4 weeks at a time and use AirAuto, www.airauto.pt - email airauto@mail.telepac.pt. For full inclusive cover, no excess, I pay 100 euros a week which is approx £10 per day for a group C car which is a fairly small car but has 4-5 doors. I only come out in the winter so I don't know whether they are dearer in the summer months. They meet you at the airport with the keys and you pick up the car from the car park outside. This is more convenient than being bussed to a depot outside of the airport.

Mike ,email steen with your request and the fact that you can get a deal for a tenner a day as per dennisg.Chances are he,ll match or beat it and in fairness YOR are such an easy crowd to deal with.

Just checked back on my records and we rented a car with aircon for 5 weeks end January through to early March for £323. We used TavelRent rented through Economy Car Hire. The price includes the additional insurance which is usually extra. This saves arguments about bumps and scratches, although the cars are usually in pretty good shape.

dennisg, Gerry, and Barry.
Thank you for that information. Very useful.
I will contact Steen first, as I have used YOR for the past three years, without problems, and to date have no complaints about any aspect of their service.
