The Best Italian in CVO ?

My father-in-law swears by Primavera for "Italian style cuisine" but my best friend says La Bella Vita is superior.Long ago I favoured Roma's.

What do you think ? Is there another contender ?

Have tried Bella Vita and Primavera twice. Would never go back to Primavera, and to be honest I didn't think Bella Vita was all that special.

For the quality of their pasta dishes I personally would go for Villa Medici (and they take credit cards!)

Bella Vita takes credit cards too.... an it has my vote for best price/quality italian.

We tried Mona Lisa, wanted it to be great....it's within walking distance for one thing, but it just didnt do it for some reason. Lovely garlic bread....but just didnt tick the boxes, it had no atmoshere either. Shame really........but I bet if we were there with Baggy.....it would be wonderful

Tried Medici this summer. I have been told the service and food here are good. As we received little of either and no apology for their mistake, we left after one and a half hours. It was now about 10.30pm and I was starving & thirsty. We went to Oasis and Karin & Hans saved the evening.

The next night we went to Mona Lisa. A first time visit. It was rather touristy, but good atmosphere. Excellent food, and good value for money.

Tia Ilda is not the same atmosphere since it changed ownership some years ago, but the views are still brilliant. Tried to get in the night we went to Medici, as we wanted pizzas, but they were fully booked.

Hiya Bruce and everyone,

Yep I suppose I do cause havoc wherever we go and there is always people to talk to.

Dinner times in the places to eat are usually filled with the below. But that is perhaps my downfall cos I start gassing with one and all, forget my meal, drink to much, giggle like mad, wolf down the food and then,, well its all the drinky poos they plie you with after the meal that finally tips me over the edge.

By that time most of the people left in the restuarant or bar or wherever have heard me giggle, Richards raucous laughter, that one never forgets, our distinct sense of humour and banter. Most appreciate it, but there are always some that think, god they are here again!!

Mona Lisa's is good fun when you get the staff interacting with you as are most places.

We seem to make friends of the staff and owners in most places we go to and we always have a good welcome.

Think my pre b'day bash in CVO with those that came along will agree with the above.Great time from what I can remember

Well it was an open invite to one and all in April and it was on the site somewhere, sorry you missed it.

So I think this will be the excuse for a good drink or two or three etc etc for our wedding anniversary out in CVO for Oct 15th.
I will define a venue but probably be the Coctail bar Inside, start at 9.30 ish,til fall over.
Dinner location to be decided probably Al Gale, or somewhere round there.at 7.30, WATCH THIS SPACE.
So you have the first invite, Bruce, thats if you are firs to read this!!!

definately approve of A gale. That is our standard eatery, usually our first port of call on an evening arrival.

Just got back from CVO on saturday. We have been going for the last 10 years - we used to love the Roma, closed last year, thrilled to find it had opened again. Real disappointment, they have obviously spent alot on making it look lovely but the menu was not a patch on what is was before

hardly any italian at all and the pasta I had was very salty (sorry Roma won't be back after 10 years business) We went to the Medici about 4 times and like it very much, the decor is lovely, the atmosphere is very cosy and the fillet steak is to die for

. The kids love it too

Also wanted to say - stay just round corner from Bella Vita and think this is lovely too, very friendly staff, good service and great food
