Hi Baggysallyjane

Yes we live in sunny Weymouth, home of the 2012 Olympic sailing events.

Traffic here is a nightmare now during the summer, heaven knows how we'll cope during the Olympics

It worked!

Folding electric cool bag worked brilliantly. Not too heavy in my case and chilled drinks perfectly for the beach. It even came with a selection of 2 & 3 pin adaptors.

Thanks for reporting back Stevieg. Sounds like one cool gadget.

New question: At the other end of the scale, does anyone know where (in the Algarve or mail order) one can buy real cheap simple cool bag ? Something one can use for a week and throw away. Under €10 is good.

Richard - we have one of the silver carrier type bags that you can pick up in Intermarche for a couple of euros - I think they are designed to take your frozen stuff home but they seem to work well enough as a cool bag (especially if you add a bottle of frozen water)

Thanks Graham, I'll look out for those in a couple of weeks.
