Furniture and Bedding

Post by wattsey »

Can anyone suggest any places to buy beds, bedroom furniture and bedding/linen etc? Our apartment has the original beds which must be about 20 years old. We want to renew with a more modern style.

Have been to Moviflor and bought some items for the living room but wondered if there was anywhere else close by.

Hi

We have just furnished our apartment, we bought quite a lot from Moviflor. We also used a small furniture warehouse near our apartment in Portimao. They were very helpful and you were able to do some haggling. We bought a full bedroom suite and two sofas for the lounge for the total sum of 1300 euros.

I think it is worth just driving around and dropping in small stores instead of the large named places.

Also, it is worth noting that with large concerns like Moviflor, they can't always deliver when you want it, whereas small businesses usually bend over backwards for your custom. The items we bought were on the van even before I left the shop. Now that's what I call service.

You could also try Sofavip - we went in to the shop to look at sofas and instead bought a double bed and bedside tables. It was all delivered according to plan(unlike another store which didn't deliver the sofas on the right date). The bedroom furniture looked so good, that we took delivery of the same style for the second bedroom a couple of weeks ago.

We bought 4 beds from Moveis Malheiro they were very helpful .After they delivered we wanted to change the style of two of the beds :D and they did it the next day. I would highly recommend them. One of the girls speaks very good English.
