Never visited before

Post by alliroul »

Hi,

Firstly, sorry if these questions have already been asked, but I cannot find them. :)

My boyfriend and I are staying for a week in mid September arriving on a Sunday, early evening, and I wondered if it was best to book a taxi in adavance (taking a chance on not being delayed to long), or if it is quite easy to get a taxi at faro airport. Also does anyone know anything about the Bellevue Apartments, cannot find any info on any holiday website.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. We had a thread about this a week or so ago. My recommendation was to hire a car. If you go to the home page and click on the algarvedriver link, you'll see it is not too expensive and having a car gives you much more flexibility. Driving is a doddle and it is an easy drive from the airport to CVO.

If this doesn't appeal, there are forum members who provide a transfer service and I'm sure they will be in touch. :D

No idea where the Bellevue Appts are but I'll look out for them next week. :D

It is situated on the corner of Estrada do Farol and Rua das Flores.

Thanks for your reply.

We were offered a car by the holiday company, only I don't drive & my boyfriend's a biker who has not been behind a wheel of a car for years and didn't fancy getting back into it abroad

Peter, thanks for the links.

As mentioned there is a separate thread regarding taxis. There are plenty at the airport but it can be hair raising stuff. As your boyfriend is a biker he is probably a thrillseeker so shouldn't be a problem. However, next time we will probably use algarve driver for the transfer.

The Bellevue Aparts. are very nice and spacious, most of them with fantastic seaview. It is an easy walk into town and to Centianes beach. Have a great holiday.

Thank you every one for your responses.

I can't wait to get there, from every thing I've seen and/or read regarding Carvoeiro it sounds lovely, and the residents & vistors are obviously friendly and helpful, if this forum is anything to go by :D

We use and have regularly. Simon Greene at Terreno Tours taxis email: terrenotours@vodafone.pt or Tel: +351 282 350 117. For us he's been excellent and never let us down no matter what time we have arrived, spot on service.. Costs €45 from Faro to Carovoeiro
Have a great time you're gonna love it..

For your transfers I would recommend "Best Day" Transfers. We have used them a number of times, both, before I started driving and when anybody goes over to our apartment who doesn't drive. Their web address is www.bestday.pt and their email address is online@bestday.pt

Hope you have a great time, I fell in love with Portugal the first time I visited CVO

Hi - we use Simon all the time and he is great - just a quick note, the fare has gone up to 50Euros - that's inflation for you!
