When we were out in Carvoeiro in April walked past this bar on numerous occasions and it was never open. We may try again in August.
Tapas Bar near Carvoeiro Sol does great sangria! from what i can remember...............

My name is Antonio Frances and i´m the owner of Tom Singelo Wine and Tapas Bar

Tom Singelo is a portugues tipical "taberna" that offers a wide tapas variety such as :

- Anchovies in pure olive oil and garlic
- Codfish Salad
- River Shrimps
- Roasted Chouriço in Medronho
- Azeitão´s pure Cheese

and so on and so on

Is also a place were you can enjoy a great enviroment and the possibility to try lots of diferent but great wines by the glass.

We open from 10:00 to 24:00

The cod fish salad sounds good and river shrimps..do you make a good white wine spritzer?

Can I claim the prize ?

We visited last night and were made most welcome by Antonio and his team. About 5 minutes later we were joined another regular forumer and her husband and had a great evening drinking sangria - which is unusually melon juice based and as good as Antonio claimed (the 4th was as good as the 1st !!). We also tried the assorted tapas which were very good and when we got the bill could not believe how reasonable it was.

Two points we found - they close Mondays - Tom Singelo is not a person but translates to Simple Tone as they try to keep the food and wine selection simple but good.

Went last night and it was open! Met António - charming guy and had great tapas and a very good house red wine. Very reasonable bill. Well worth the wait!

I went to Tom Singelo last week and have to make the follwoing comments:

We went quite early for lunch as we were shopping (around midday) and ordered our food and a bottle of Rose. We then encountered a problem whereby the food we ordered was not available for whatever reason, and the waiter did not speak very good English. We then pointed at the menu for an alternative and eventually ended up with totally different food to what we ordered.Although it was cooked nicely and well presented, a cheese feta salad is not something I would consider to be on the "Hot Food" menu. I know CVO is in Portugal, and I should try to learn the language and therefore cannot criticise TS for this, but others more biligerent may be more critical - therefore I would say to TS that it may be helpful to have waiters who are multi-lingual on duty if there is only one of them. Please take this as helpful advice rather than a moan.
