Hiya,
the hotel Solferinas, or something like that is cheap n cheerful with a pool .We were there 4 a nite b4 our apt was ready. £17 4 the nite without breckie for the 2 of us. Huge room, lively people and very helpful and a nice garden and pool 2 boot.

Take a look at this site: http://www.portugalvirtual.pt/_lodging/ ... index.html The price is ex. breakfast. You can stay at the Carvoeiro Sol for almost the same price. Take a look here: http://www.carvoeiro.com/CarvoeiroSol/promotion.htm (personally I would prefer the Carvoeiro Sol, because it is right in the middle of CVO on the square)

An alternative still close to town is "Welwitchia" which is about 100 mts on the right up the hill past the Municipal market before you get to Rest. Palmeira

We stayed at the Solferias for 4 nights last August. It was OK but a bit tatty- we had a large room with folding doors opening into kitchen facilities which were useful. The room looked out onto the pool area which was quite good. Overall you really need a car to get into CVO.

We stayed at the Carvoeiro Sol this March for one night and although you get less space, it's nicer especially for a night or so and very convenient for eating & drinking in CVO.

Hiya,
CVO Sol is really nice, especially as the pool is heated & great 4 an early morning dip b4 breker & again b4 going out 4 dinner somewhere.
Most of the other pools with apts etc that have pools are not heated or not as well as the one at CVO Sol. Sounds daft but with the air temp being so hot a heated pool has less drop in temp 4 us delicate mortal souls.
