Outside furniture

Post by pm »

Where would you recommend for buying outside furniture? Some chairs and a table. Ideally not expensive and ideally not white plastic

 Most of the large garden centres have wooden furniture for the garden, or you could go with stone tables and benches which are available at the large potteries on the N125.

Outdoor furniture

Mestre Maco is good: got the standard issue plastic chairs but in dark green which looks good. Only cost about 8 euros a piece.

We also bought a cheap swing seat - very chunky metal frame, and upholstered cushions etc. But after just a few months the painted metal had gone dull & flat, and the fabric was faded and ripped.

The Portuguese extremes of heat/rain/wind can be very punishing for anyhting you leave outside permanently.

But the cheapo chairs are fine!

 Hi, yes, there is a place on the in road from Lagoa to Carvoeiro, used to do rooms to let, on the right hand side before you get to the garage. Noticed when we were out that they have quite a selection of outdoor furniture including a resin type table with glass top and chairs to match with cushions, they are great as they withstand all types of weather and can be left outside all year round, look good too.

I had a quick look there but they were shut for the two days I was over. I also had a look in Mestre Maco - they had loads of outdoor furniture in there - bought a nice lounger and will be going back to have a look at their chairs and tables at the end of May. Hope they still have some left. Will also have a look at the place in Cvo (if they are open!)
