Renting Long Term
Can anyone give me a rough idea of cost of renting long-term in say, Lagoa, Alvor, Silves, or outskirts of Carvoeiro please?
Would be looking for 2 bed apart, with balcony/terrace and would like some shops within walking distance.
Some time ago when in Lagoa I was told that prices hadn't changed there that much since our living there (rent for 2 bed aprt then was just under £300 a month...a very nice one)
Would something like this be around 500 euros+ now?
Id just like an idea of what to expect, when I have a look round Sept.
Many thanks

Now Gerry you might just have said the magic word there
Hi Gerry, well the plan is, we're putting this place up for sale end of summer this year. We will buy a small place to keep here in UK but would want to rent place in Algarve next year for Autumn & wintertime...so probably talking up to 6 month...thats the rough idea, depending how long it takes to sell!

Hi Laser, we wouldn't make enough on this place to buy in both countries and also its to be more flexible? As would like to travel & see other places & also perhaps 'rent ' in other countries for a period at a time? For example south of France / or the Burgundy arealaserblazer wrote:Ellie, have you done some sums and calculated this to be cheaper than owning a property in both countries?

Hi Ellie, sorry for the delay ,nights are a killer,so are we talking october to march or there abouts, don,t worry i know ye can,t be exact with any of this.
The place is a 3 double bed villa with pool and medium size garden .Its the other side of Porches,a bit rural but a five min walk to Marachino and restraunts,i know your heart is set in CVO but if ye cant find anything better this might act as a fallback.
There are some great walks and really nice private beaches.Look, if ye can find one of those free maps of armacao de pera ,look for the"blues bar"take the next turn right and its about fifty yards down on the left hand side opp the B and B.Even if your stuck for a couple of weeks or thereabouts give me a shout ,its no big deal to turn a bit of heat on for a while and id rather see it full as empty.

Hi Gerry,
Thanks for that info..and it sounds lovely place. Yes, think it would be roughly about that period of the year.
I will definitely be in touch when I know whats what! As I say, it all depends on how house sale goes..some places go quickly here in this part of Lincs, others can be up for sale for year or more!
But thank-you for keeping us in mind,
all the best,
cheers ellie
p.s. Hub said will there be any Wolfhounds around?
