Restaurant Poço Partido

Post by biffa »

Anyone been to this one yet?

It is the old "Imperio do Palador" just round the corner from the little bar at Poço Partido. It is being run I understand by António (ex Galé?) and seems to have opened this week.

Yes, its open. Quiet so far but a nice menu. Glad to see its got its old name back again.

But to answer your question, no, we haven't been yet!

Same menu, quality and standard as A Galé, but nicer surroundings.

Try it.

However! Park across my driveway and I will let your tyres down...

Império do Paladar, Carvoeiro €€€
This restaurant's name translates to "the empire of flavours" and the variety of dishes on offer does justice to the name. This is a welcome addition to the Carvoeiro restaurant scene with a wide selection of traditional Portuguese, international and African dishes. Some of the best dishes such as the excellent Mozambique chicken curry need to be ordered in advance. Located next to Colina Village at Poço Partido Open for dinner only - closed Tuesdays. Tel: 282 341 731
And you can take a look at this site to find Poço Partido: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 8&t=h&om=1 (On the map in the middle is the Intermarché)
Have a nice search.

I have found another link for you. Take a look at this site: http://www.freemaps.net/en/downloads/carvoeiro.pdf
As far as I know it must be n°39 on the map.

The "Império de Paladar" name has been changed back to the original, so if you try to find it you should look for "Restaurante Poço Partido".

The menu has also changed and is more traditional Portuguese than international. Lots of kebabs (skewers) and dishes such as Bife à Portuguesa, also dishes for two people. Prices €10 - €14 on average for a main course.

It is listed on the new Freemap.

Bon appetit!

Blue, another nice spot to visit at Poço Partido is the little bar just by the 90º bend in the road. You will recognise it by the café society assembled on the front terrace discussing current affairs. It is known by some as the "Afterbirth Arms" as a cat had its litter under one of the tables one evening.

Pass this place almost everyday, very tempted to give it a try but the ´cafe society` seem a little intimidating. Obviously the place to go for those in the know. 8)

We have been to the restaurant a couple of times and I think it will do well. If you liked a Gale but did not like the cramped seating you will love this place. The restaurant is spacious and nicely appointed with on site parking. Food is the Gale usual - good quality and well priced.

We tried it the other night, after everyone raving about A Galé I thought it would be really special, I was wrong. Food very ordinary, slightly tasteless and dry, served with the usual chips ( although they WERE crinkly :P ) runner beans and carrots (cooked hours before  ). Only good thing was, I didn't have to wash up after!!! We will try it again, but there are so many other good places to eat it might be a while.

Who buys all the other vegetables on sale in the shops? Surely it can't JUST be me??

Got back from cvo yesterday & ate at this restaurant 3 times in the 2 weeks. Lovely surroundings, great service & excellent food, not overly priced.Never felt rushed unlike some conveyor belt type establishments.
