We are purchasing an apartment, it should be ready in May or June. Can anyone tell me where the best, reasonable places are to buy furniture, and white goods.

Worten will give you an idea of white goods prices. Moviflor is a general purpose furniture shop. Sofavip is a little like DFS, always seem to have 1/2 price offers. Algarvefurniture will buy from Ikea Seville for you and deliver.
Another possibility is pick a Algarve UK/ transport company. Go into, say John Lewis and select your stuff. They will have it delivered from a branch near your transport company UK base and it appears on your door step in the Algarve. Many major UK retailers will do this

I found Conforama near Algarve Shopping to have a good selection of furniture and decorative bits. Prices were very good, and quality is OK. They were also quick at deliery i.e. my leather sofas were delivered the day after I ordered them. They are near Radio Popular who have lots of white goods as well. There is also a lovely lighting shop next door. definitely worth a visit.

Try Paulo at Moveis Malheiro just north of Portimao, huge and different
collection of modern and traditional furniture. Crowded with stuff over 3 floors but excellent
