Food supplies at Christmas

sane guest
So what?. The question was 'are there any shops open on christmas day in CVO? The question was not ' is it right that shops open on christmas day, or isn't it terrible that people can not enjoy a holiday because people demand that shops open?'
You'll probably find if you asked that most of those who have responded actually are sympathetic towards the needs of others.
You really are a total dipstick, and give us guests a bad name

wow ..sympathetic to the needs of others...you could have fooled me.
since i have now seen the error of my ways, does anyone know if the post office in Carvoiero is open on dec 25th..i need to post a letter.
and also are the banks open...yes i demand the right to use my bank...are there buses running and trains, i need to go to Portimao since i forgot something.
as an earlier person said, if they dont like it then there are always other jobs for these ones ..no one "forces" them to work.
now who is being naive?

Plonker, obviously it takes a much longer period of time for things to be absorbed by your little brain than most ordinary people.
The question that was originally asked was 'are the shops open...?' There was no question of 'I need...' or 'I demand...', as you are hysterically, and juvenily, suggesting
For dear sake reread your previous posts and discover how much humour you are generating against yourself by your imbecelic histrionics, and then vacate this site!

Tricky--how about "Saint Victor Meldrew" patron saint of shopworkers?
Only Brits will know whatIm talking about with this one!
Come on Guest--give it a break!

why do i need to vacate a site that is about a place where i live...sorry no.
if writing about the plight of those who have to work on xmas day has created so much humour then how sad.
the original question was..are shops open..well that presupposes that they are or could be when in fact the questioner should know the answer..of course they are not.
in fact as we know and as the uk goverment now realises that opening on xams day should not be allowed...since there seems now no end to commercialism and the demands of those who have to work for and on behalf of such firms.
i once again ask to which no one has answered ..how did people survive for decades without commercial firms being closed not just for one day but three or four. why not try it or has shopping in england now become so additive that you cannot do without it for one day.

I see on another post somebody has had the temerity to ask if there are any hotels or restaurants open on christmas day.
Lets wait for the misguided onslaught. 'Cant you cook your own food, or go without for a day, why cant you give hotel staff a holiday, what about the poor turkey, is it fair on them - surely you should consider their feelings, etc, etc,etc..ad nauseum....

Brill idea !
What a nice idea Eva---youre on the right track with this one----youve brightened this topic---nice to get away from the misery guest----
What venue would you suggest for this Xmas get -together?
How about a beach party---during the day--and good sing song/dancing in square in the evening----wonder what other CVO Xmas visitors think of this one?
As you say--then no one need be lonely!
Christmas--time for loving and giving.

I think for many people this would be an oppertunity to meet other people. New people in town can meet and greet, something like that.
If like everybody who wants to be at this party during day and/or evening maybe support with a little money p.p. would make this possible.
On the beach you could play games and music and whatever people want and at night some nice music, dance and diner. The older people can have fun there too I think. Is there a big tree at the square at x-mas???
This is easy talking but it's maybe possible. These are just some ideas

good idea
It sounds good idea Guest--it makes me think of the first week of our holiday--3 nights of entertainment in the square--The singing pastor Greg Eckland(excellent-stuff right from 50s --to 70s) people joined in singing& dancing--second time it was Portuguese young lady Filomena Batista --3 hours brilliant singing& playing--once again everyone joined in--then 3rd night Portuguese young man on guitar --till after midnight--great night.
So-------about Christmas in CVO?
Weathers bound to be good---our Christmas there 2001--very poor tree!
Looked more like elongated tv aerial!
But does that matter if youre enjoying yourself?
You just need "people" --good music --good food& drink et voila!!!
