Chinese in Lagoa

Post by tricky »

The Chinese restaurant in Lagoa, I think it is called The Jade Garden,
anyway its the only one on the 'walking' street, is very good. Better quality food and much cheaper than any we have been to in Carvoeiro.
Best to book.

 when you say the 'walking street' do you mean the one by Centry21 and Millenium Bank? or have I got that totally wrong? Love Chinese and it would make a nice change to eat in Lagoa, also it is closer to us than Cvo.

To be pedantic - it is called 'Jardim Sul' tel 282 352 273.

It is run by Su and her husband and yes it is excellent and cheaper than the CVO chinkies.

Hi Lesley Jean,

Jardim Sul, Lagoa. Main Square on your right.
Walk straight and on the pedestrian section.
About 1 min max on right hand side.

Sorry Lesley, in my eagerness to get there and then after a wonderful meal and lots of hic hic....I can never remember if there is a bank or whatever around. But I think there is at least 1 bank. :? :?

I'll second all those comments - excellent food at very reasonable prices.
Always pay a visit when we are over there!!

We have been recommending this restaurant ever since we first discovered it some 4 years ago, but our last 3 meals have been disappointing (smaller portions and lacking in flavour) and the place lacking in atmosphere even though Su is still there.

Have we been very unlucky or have others had the same experience ?

I have never been there but would like to do so. Just wondered whether they do takeaways also?

Yes.

It was the small and tasteless special chop suey of last night that inspired (is that the right expression :) ) me to place my comment. :(

I'm really surprised to hear that the food has changed. We ate there regularly last Feb. & March and were never disappointed. Will give them a try this winter again.

Maybe it was an 'off' night Roy. We were there last week and it was as good as usual.

We went here last week. Excellent, very tasty and large portions - excellent value and we would definitely return.
