Odd thing at sea this morning. Seemed to be a stationary navy frigate just off Carvoeiro (through binoculars) with a leisure craft behind it and what seemed to be a smallish boat hull up in the water? Anybody seen it?

This turned out to be the upturned hull of a trimaran which sunk off Sagres a few days back. Two crew members were taken away by helicopter but a 60 year old man (boats owner?) was found drowned in the upturned hull. He had been locked in the galley with his hands tied and weights on him!!

The two rescued crew members are locked up awaiting investigation of their part.

What I saw on Saturday off Carvoeior was the rescue of the boat and discovery of the body. Eeeek - funny things happen at sea!
