Away from the madding crowds
Away from the madding crowds
Two restaurants which not had a mention.
Marisqueira Tia Rosa just before getting to Lagoa, opposite Plus supermarket - Rosa and her hubby Antonio have been there for over 20 years now and put out consistently good food at reasonable prices. If you mention that I have recommended you they have promised a free aperitif or digestif of your choice.
Barca Velha on the shopping complex opposite the Fatacil showground were we went today and offer extremely good food at reasonable prices.
Both only 5 minutes fronm CVO and cheaper with no crowds and both handy for visitors to the Lagoa festival which starts tomorrow from 6 p.m.

Having seen that Robert and Hilary share my views on Tia Rosa, here are two more away from 'Restaurant Hill' and the crowds.
A Paleta (almost next door to Plus supermarket) reckoned in the Portuguese forum to be the only restaurant in the CVO/Lagoa area to serve real portuguese food.
Restaurant Lamim in Lagoa - go up the hill past the post office and market taking the next narrow road on the right - reckoned to have the best soup in the area and the rest of the food isn't bad either !! Tell Paulo and his wife Paula that I sent you
