The easiest way to tell is to log onto an airline and look for a ridiculous hike in prices .

Back on the original question, is half term predominantly the week beginning October 23rd ?

23-27 for London boroughs.

Thanks Malrc. That is indeed the week when SleazyJet prices go thru the roof.

Mind you, I have just booked for end Nov for a tad under £43 return
