Thank you so much De la soul for your kind enquiry, unfortunately I will not be gracing this restaurant or indeed CVO with my presence this yuletide. Unfortunately I will be in cold, damp Cheshire with the Turkey,However I do wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and when you are passing by the restaurant (obviously you won't go in, as its so bad) :D Please give the dog a pat from me.

With kindest regards and felicitations

Tricky

I'll probably get blasted for this but.....yes I know the setting is stunning and it's romantic and so on but this time the food just didn't get me going. I've had better sea-bass in Ferragudo by the harbour, the veggies weren't great, the glasses had that dishwasher smell and it was the most expensive meal of our trip. However I know I'll re-visit just because of the setting.

I must agree with redwine girl, we too did not like the food that much. It's OK but expensive for the quality. Personnel is nice but this kind of familiarity one expects in small portuguese 'tasca's' and not in an 'upscale' restaurant. But the place does it all....... :?

Actually its a fabulous restaurant, not cheap but worth absolutely every euro. I dont judge restaurants as good with ease - I am very pedantic about food but this one has been consistently good - my favourite is red tiger prawns (check the size and if must be greedy like me and have two!).
The only problem with the place is that they are not good at reservations, I have been a couple of times with reservation to then have to wait about 2 hours beyond my reserved time before getting a table. But this is the problem in Portugal when somewhere is so popular and good.

The trick is not to bother reserving, we just lie on the sunloungers having the occasional dip & cold beer & they come down & tell us when a table's available, bliss. :D
