a new start

having been to carvoeiro many times,my wife and i might be selling up in the uk and moving to portugal for a new start.
the only thing that might be a problem is work.i know carvoeiro is a very small place but would like to know the job situation,and if jobs are avalible,and if so is there a good chance of finding one.
we have been thinking over the last few years,and now we are ready to take the boat out of the uk for good,but we have our hearts set on carvoeiro,and as long as we both in full time imployment,we will be happy


if anyone could give any infomation on this it would be much appreciated

We too have that dream but have realised that the " idea " of full time employment with a reasonable income is a pipe dream.
THere are those who have done well BUT they had money to start with.
Others we know do have some form of income ) cleaning apartments, transfers, property maintainence etc ) but this is insufficient to support their life styles and supplement this from pensions and savings.

Unless you are a fluent in portuguese . are well in with the local business network and have capital to support your ambitions forget it.

However is you arrive with a modest income, live modestly enjoy the weather , lack of stress and accept whatever work comes along then it has to be better than the 7.30am 6.00pm rate race 5 days week 48 weeks of the year

Finding a job down here will depend on what you are willing/able/qualified to do - the Algarve is focused on tourism and industries to support tourism .

What kind of jobs did you have in mind?

I also think that you shouldn't focus just on Carvoeiro in terms of finding a job.
Carvoeiro is a very small place but there are other areas around it that you could try out. The commute wouldn't take that long (and there are no smelly Tubes here! lol)
