Didn't want to pour cold water on things, but unfortunately while those huge manhole covers are open, it pongs around the openings. Hopefully when they are closed, it'll go away, but the seals on the covers didn't look too promising, so one hopes its more than just that.

Thank goodness, my Nephew and family are on there way out today and I have been telling them how lovely and family friendly Carvoeiro is, so hopefully now they will be able to enjoy it to its full.

Good news indeed Richard.. I am over this weekend and look forward to strolling down to the square in the morning for a cup of tea, read the paper, overlooking the beach without looking at corrgated fencing.

The Junta used to publish a list of the forthcoming evenings activities in teh square. Does anyone know whether or not they are doing that this year? In previous years the atmosphere in the square during the summer months was rather quite good.
