There are 2 dive centres in Carvoeiro, one at the Almansor hotel and one at Quinta do Paraiso.
There are a few pedalos at Carvoeiro beach, but Praia Grande at Ferragudo is much bigger and has more in the way of water sports.

The nearest dive centre for you is on Quinta do Paraiso, 5-10 minutes walk from Vila Nova.
The weather is great now, about 32 degrees today, and it should stay like this till about October!

Vilamoura is about 30 minutes by car - it would be very expensive by taxi, and would probably take quite a long time by public transport.
There is a link to the bus timetables on the FAQ section of the forum, if that helps.
