 Wow, Hi Piglet, nice to speak to you again, hope all is going well. That sounds so fantastic, fishing off the beach. I haven't got a clue as to how you do it but it just sounds so fantastic. What with that and your vegatable patch you will be so self sufficient  I am so envious

Hi Lesley

WE have not got a clue either re fishing...but would like to give it a go LOL

Just realised how much hard work the veg patch is....been diggging and weeding this afternoon...and its sweltering...not to mention Hubby found a few insects in my hair...LIVE ARhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when I came in for a drink.

When are you next out?

If you look at Algarveresident.com they have a section on fishing sponsored by Dave Goodwin.
I too cannot wait to start fishing in the algarve, ( did try a few hours in may off the beach at Salgados ).
In addition tio the beach and boat fishing there is fantastic fishing for carp and black bass in the dams.
Its an untouched tourist asset in the algarve.

There is also a fantastic fishing tackle shop in the square in lagoa.

If this takes off maybe we could have our own section on the forum.

fishing from the rocks

Post by flying fish »

Hi piglet, I hope you have more luck fishing from the rocks than I do. I use a 10 foot spinning/light sea rod with fixed spool reel,10 lb line and various end tackle and have tried twice but so far caught zero fish, that's nil, or fish 2 - 0 me

Hi FLying Fish

I think its more to have the peace and tranquility of the sea...and space to think....catching a fish would be a bonus..
The rod we looked in the shop was nearly 4 metres long!
Will keep you posted if we catch anything

Many thanks
