el paso

Can anyone give me information on a restaurant called el paso, I am
told it is near vale do milho golf course.

Yes it is very close....From the 'Dodgy ' Cross roads head 'Up the slope' and stay on that road for maybe 1000 metres and it's on your right....nice people but alas rather quiet nowdays and frankly it's had it's day..

We visited tonight about 7 p.m., stayed for about 1/2 hour having a drink and were the only people there.
Speaking to the German owner of 15 years, he said we were early and things did not liven up until about 9 or 10 p.m.
After a snack in town we returned at 10 p.m. and again the place was empty.
As per previous comments, it looks a bit past its prime but is obviously surviving.
Have any other forumers visited and got a different impression to ours - and in particular eaten there ?

We did eat there a few years back but it is not the sort of restaurant that we ever wanted to go back to. It never seems to be busy one or if they are lucky two cars at most in the drive and you do not see people walking in to the place. Perhaps I should try it on my next trip and let everyone know what its like now.

We went there once hoping to eat but the German owner was talking with some other Germans and didn't seem interested in giving us a menu or getting us a drink, even though we tried out our best German on him, so we upped and left. (Maybe it was the way I goose-stepped in - no we didn't mention the war.)

You silly man...of course you wouldn't get served.....you didn't have a towel on your chair...therefore you had no reservation
