This gentleman has been sentenced to 2 years for tax evasion resulting from his activities in various countries including Portugal.

With the huge amounts of cash in the system during the holiday season one can only guess at the true levels of tax evasion which go on and the difficulty the authorities have in trying to determine liability.

Perhaps this might explain in part why the subject of tourist liscenses has aroused such interest ??

What's this got to do with Carvoeiro tbbr. Portugal is a generalisation don't you think. I also don't think that the tourist licence fiasco had any part in his affaires or the Portuguese.

I am suggesting that as the authorities find it almost impossible to collect the due amount of tax in a tourist economy where huge amounts of cash circulate that it is easier to look for softer targets such as the growing number of owner rentals.
They need only to look at the various web sites to identify individuals and then act as they see fit.

As to Mr Lineker , much of his cash came from his V Large establishment in ALbufeira visited I am sure by many who stayed in CVO.
