Bank
Bank
I know this has been brought up before but I got a bit confused by it all.
I need to set up a Portuguese Bank Account, does anybody have any recommendations, I have all the documentation needed but want to know if there is a bank that will allow me to withdraw and deposit in the UK.
Just depositing would be okay. It needs to be near CVO
Thanks
Tricky

BPI, Totta and Millennium bcp Among Best in Europe LONDON, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank branches in Portugal are probably the best in mainland Europe - with friendly proactive staff, customer-friendly technology - and excellent merchandising, window displays and exteriors, according to new research on bank branches across 10 continental European countries from the London-based Lafferty Group. Specifically, the branches of BPI, Millennium bcp and Totta are rated as three of the top four banks in the entire study, which covers 55 banks in 10 countries.
I use Totta bank on the right side of restaurant hill as you go up and they have a branch in London too and also offer internet banking.

You can transfer money from a UK bank account to a Portuguese bank account. There is normally a charge of around £25 per time and you usually have to go into the bank (any branch) to do it.
I bank with Millennium. They are very good and we use both Carvoeiro and Lagoa branches. The online banking is also in English.

Hi,
You should open an account with Millennium... i have one with them in Portugal and I have access to my account in the UK as they have an office in London. You can also send money to Portugal from the UK by depositing money at the postoffice with a GIRO slip free of charge and it takes 3 business days to get to Portugal!
