Just got back from CVO and the Tropical is still open and is ran by Helder. He opens at 9.00am till late except for Fridays when he opens up at 5.00pm. Very good place for snacks, coffee and drinks etc. Dave.

This bar is ALWAYS open and you are right, Helder is great. Tell all your friends to call in - great value and a good atmosphere because the local Portuguese use it as well

:D Many thanks to the people who replied - my partner Julie and myself have spent many an hour in the Tropical bar - watching Man.United on sky tv. If anyone is passing please say "hello" to Helder for us - hopefully we will be in Carvoeiro sometime next year!

Manchester is a rough area that most of the country tries to forget about !

Some smashing sport to be seen at Old Trafford though.

Biffa, I feel that I must put you right! about Manchester!

(and the forum's pretty quiet right now)

Manchester is the place that successfully hosted the commonwealth games,
has the best football team in the world,
never needs a hosepipe ban (that's why we've all got swimming pools)
and has some of the best nightlife in the UK.
Infact the only downside is that we really struggle to get low cost flights to CVO, as our airport is too posh for downmarket carriers

:D Tricky,

Totally agree with your response about Manchester especially the air fares to Faro - no low fares for the people of the North West! Also about the best football team in the country!
