The Village Inn

Hi,
I have heard plenty of good things about this restaurant and intend to try it on my next visit (next week).
Could anyone give me good directions and recommend something off the menu.

I seem to recollect that they still advertise in FreeMap, with fairly good driving instructions. If that is not true, try this:

Head for Lagoa, and turn left towards Portimao. Straight across the first roundabout, then go past the turnoff to Silves and Motorway and take next right signed to Ferragudo and swing across the N125. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right, then keep going for a couple of clicks through sort of residential area until you come to the village square and Village Inn is there on the right.

I'd hate to suggest anything from the menu in advance. (Mainly cos I cannot remember). See what you like on the night. All I can say is that there is a great choice of starters, and at least one special vegetarian dish.

Wal - it is definately in freemaps (and always will be since Cathy at the Village Inn has a sister who runs freemaps!)

I recommend nearly all the starters - it is very eclectic so you could have goats cheese salad or an Indian pakora - main courses change daily so just pick what you fancy and it will probably be good.

Someone please correct me if I have missed a turning but I think we just drive past slide and splash and keep on going until you get to a main traffic lights crossing the old 125 portimao road. Go straight across these lights and after about a mile you are in the square. Village Inn is on the sort of 'exit' from the square, on the right of the road on a slight left hand bend.

MC It was a satellite view of the restaurant from Googlemap. You could pan out and see the roads that connect it to Carvoeiro if you want.
On the Freemap site the Village Inn is item 14 on the Lagoa map and it's location is just shown as a diection arrow from the roundabout on the E125.
