I understand that Aldi are opening soon in Alcantirilha....a smaller version of intermarche is going to be built next to the blue elephant car wash in lagoa (the site boards are already up) and also Modelos in Portimao want to convert their existing place into offices and then rebuild a Continente near by at the old drug users site aptly called Palacio

speaking to a pottery shop owner who is planning to move to smaller premises - the reason why is that his shop costs 4000 euros a month to rent...which I would suggest makes it well nigh impossible to break even , let alone make a profit.

I seems that there are some 120 sq metre shops for sale along the road, but they want 250000 euros ..when offered 20000 ..the reply is that eh price is non negotiable - which explains why after two years they are still unsold..obviously the law of supply and demand does not apply here
