Sewerage charges when not on mains drainage

Hi Martin,

As you are aware we are in the Silves area.

We have our own bore hole and of course fossa and therefore totally independent of any mains from Silves.

Are you saying that a collection of sewage from a fossa is completely free
from Silves Camara and/or water company

I am aware those on "mains" in certain areas that the removal of such is part of their bills and I believe that Gambo mentioned something about this!

I must admit there does seem to be some

over this point. Nightrider!

I am in the same position as you....and when I asked a friend in albufiera (who are on mains) and who had a camara fosse wagon on site removing crusty substances from underground..I was told by the owner that it was included in the price of their water bills.....so that is my knowledge of the subject ..plus others have told me when we lived in cvo that is the position..if I am wrong then I stand to be corrected.

Bruxinha is right but unless it has changed recently the Aguas office is in a separate building back down the road a bit from the new council offices. If you come into Lagoa from CVO turn right at the tee junction where the pedestrian area starts and follow the road up past Jacobs shop and then go round the left hand bend. The Aguas office is on one of the corners on the right after that. You fill in a form there but you have to get your plan (see the first post) from the main council office further up the road towards the roundabout.

Sorry guest,slightly confused!
Were you friends connected to the sewerage mains (or/and water),if they were connected,why did they need their fosse emptying?

Eventually got round to sorting things out(such a hectic life!!!

),it only took about ten minutes in total,very helpful staff at camera and Aguas office.
The lady said,we should "only get the last 5 years back",not bad hey!

Latest up-date,they have stopped taking the "fees",just waiting to see how much appears in the bank account for refunds.Will keep you informed (watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Back again!
Nothing appeared in bank account ! (I´m very patient)

So went back to said dept today!!(very patient)
The lady said (when we eventually found the right one),bythe way, she is in the pink building between the camera and the aguas building up the stairs,door on right!!!!!(go to the left and they direct you to the camera building) but very nicely.

Anyway getting back to the ladyat the correct desk,she pulled afile and lo and behold ,our rebate

.It hadn´t been paid because they needed a copy pf my passport and contribution card.(They didn´t ask for this 9 months ago,or while I was paying for a service I was not recieving,for 6 years
.Anyway ,never mind, the lady said Iwill get it next week.As Steve said about 3years,so it´s worth pursuing,and they were all loverly people,me and ér indoors had a good giggle :wink
