P.S. anyone know of a video/dvd hire shop in CVO, as there doesn't seem to be any night life ?

There is a dvd rental shop underneath Jota Lita, A Galé etc, close to Angel and Joker bars - they charge 2,50 per night

quiz nights

have searched 'Joker' website & found they will have quiz nights in March; they also seem to have good sports coverage & food. Anyone got any feedback on 'Joker'? It will be very much appreciated.

Morag,
Joker Bar should be your first port of call if you like a good time. In my opinion it's the best bar in Carvoeiro ( unless Geraldine is reading this ). As it says on the website you get the best breakfast in town and the sports coverage is very good. It really is very difficult not to enjoy yourself. Paul and Sara that run it are genuinely nice and look after you really well.
Have a good trip,
CRAIG

quiz nights

Thanks Craig for the excellent feedback, we will certainly try 'Joker'. Our usual haunts are 'Havana Bar' & 'Mexilhao'; these are good but usually just for a quiet drink or football in 'Mexilhao' - have also tried 'Imprevisto' where there were two portugese football games on & had a good criac with some local blokes. However we enjoy quizzes so that will keep the old brain boxes ticking over & is usually a good laugh. I'll report on my reurn!! Only 4 weeks on Sat - not that I'm counting!! :D :D

Hi Morag
The Slam Bar at Monte Carvoeiro often have quiz nights in aid of A.P.A.A. Don't know if there will be one when you are here but there is a Quiz and Curry night on Friday 17th Feb.
The phone number is 282471851

dear spam man -sorry about the bold but being old & decrepit my eyes are failing & I find bold easier to read-didn't realise it's shouting on-line as I'm also fairly new to internet.

Morag, Spam man knows nothing....shouting is when you do it in UPPERCASE, bold is just emphasising your point...or helping those of us with failing eyesight!!!

As Thunderbolt said: Welcome to the Forum and l hope you enjoy CVO as much as we do :D

morag, you can't compose a post in bold! So how do you manage to type it in in the first place?

If you can't see too well it's a good idea to compose your post in Word using letters as large as you like and then cut and paste it into your post. :)
