Passports
Well the Romans started off the whole thing by starting to build the roads, and then the Irish made it into an art form by finishing off the job nearly 2000 years later, and then word spread back to Ireland about the welfare system
and then the rest of the world discovered what a lazy bunch there were over there and now they have moved in en masse to keep the oul wheels turnin. All power to them

Thats true. Bloody Romans. What did they ever do for us? (Life of Brian
)
They didnt need passports did they? Nor the Vikings,Danes, Angles,Saxons (who else
) right, Normans---
We didn't bother with them either when we invaded and took over a third of the globe--
Bloody Brits, we get everywhere. And still do

Dear Anonymous Guest,Anonymous wrote:N.R. the statement i made was my personal opinion at no point did i say it was a statement of fact.
Why should i sign in if i dont want to, its not compulsory on this part of the forum.
I thank you for your confirmation of your source of information (yourself).
Together, with correctly stating your rights to your own opinion and at present permitted to post as an Anonymous Guest. However, I am quite sure that others on this forum be they Registered Member or Guest will form their own opinion too as I have mine on your posting, which frankly, and I am sorry to say smacks of "Prejudice"...i.e. judging everybody by the same brush..

Hi loretta, loretta wrote:I am the guest that wrote the piece that seems to have got you on your high horse, now you know who I am what difference does it make? You still dont know who I am as I dont know who you are, its just a name
With much respect, you have now identified yourself as a Registered Member when all your previous posts on this subject implied that you were a Guest, so would you not agree that on this score your postings are somewhat slightly confusing. As for predujice of any kind...whilst I am quite sure there is an elimate of truth in what you say....I for one cannot agree that any one community/nationality should be singled out.....I am sorry and I repeat myself this is prejudice.

ps As for your personal attempt at being rude to me..my response to that is:-Unfortunately, and much to my shame, sadness and I might add love of animals......for various reasons are unable to ride a horse no matter what height it may or may not be

According to Rod's post yesterday you need photographic evidence and that could be a driving licence.
Passports are now £51..and yes they're still vaild for 10years.
When I was last in hospital,3 years ago, all the nurses were from other countries..Ireland, Asia, Caribbean, and a lot from South Africa.
Again Im just trying to balance Loretta's argument.
Even a 'TORY' politician stated that without immigrants and their high qualifications, engineering etc, some of our industries wouldn't function..as we seriously lack these people here in UK.
You also mentioned Brits moving on because of this? To where? If you mean abroad, as to Algarve, Spain, Greece etc..Id put a bet the one priority for this is the glorious climate these countries have. That if they suddenly had a dratsic change in climate/temps..then their/our plans would radically change?
Strange how this topic has developed from passports to immigration/emigration..
though perhaps on the other hand , not so strange
