chitty chatty bang bang

it seems that most subjects start off ok here...with a question or a view and then a reply and then some more views etc etc...and then it seems after 20 something posts we start with a verbal punch up..insults at 50 word spaces.

perhaps in future all items should be locked after 20 posts?

or a new section called the Forum Fight Club could be started?

I think that the Moderators have seen it all before Martin and even if the forum set up was changed again there would be a problem........human nature I'm afraid. :wink:
I can only speak for myself but when you see what has been posted on Rascals in a short space of time then many users of this forum actually 'police' themselves? and in my case during a festive season tend to get too carried away :roll:

Yeah, Pammie, and for the most part we always have....then some stupid thing like Rascals comes along (which no one ever even looked at before someone made a BIG DEAL about it) or someone starts something or someone gets upset or outraged.....and everyone is running screaming that the Mods ought to DO something.


And then it all blows over untill the next time.


Try to keep some perspective.... this happens over ond over again, and CVO.com just keeps on truckin' (after all, you are here, and so am I) and the Mods, for the most part, leave it to own onry lonesome and mean selves to work it out....and we usualy do.

That is why this place is so active....it's ALIVE (and all that that implies).

Yeah, Martin, that's always been the problem with the "General" section.
(we're even having this discussion in the "General" section)

That might work...on the other hand, it might start things off sooner.
Either way, it would end after 20 posts.

The problem is, what do you do if a intresting or informitive topic takes on a life of it's own (as this one has) and wants to go on forever?

No matter what you do, someone can bring up a variation of the same thing under another topic.
(as you have here)

I'll be glad to open up another room in Smoky Joe's Cafe for that (the beer sales are bound to go up, and I can charge a cover)....but how will that keep them from coming back here?
