Carvoeiro cobblers

Those who know Cvo. well know about its cobbled pavements which are usually a curse to me and everyone else. Can't count the amount of times have nearly broken my neck on them.
So interesting to read todays 'Daily Express' re. Scientists latest research

cobbles are good for us

Seemingly flat streets etc. are bad for us - cause illnesses ranging from high blood pressure to varicose veins because feet aren't designed to walk on flat surfaces. "wobbly walking" is necessary because it uses all the parts of the foot, keeping it exercised and healthy said the New Scientist. Some companies are even bringing out 'wobble mats'

a plastic walkway for the home to recreate the effects of cobbles.
One company in CANADA has introduced shoes which are deliberately uneven to throw users off balance so they adapt to the conditions.

Further comments are made from experts in US and Germany and Switzerland local authorities have even introduced textured surfaces to 'barefoot parks' to get people to use all the parts of their feet.

All I can say is that our Council don't fix the pavements, pot holes in roads so all this wouldn't apply to UK or Portuguese citizens?
So my advice to those concerned about this would be to have a few extra alcoholic beverages to create the 'off balance' these Research scientists

And why have I paid a Chiropracter to put my back right for walking off balance with having one leg shorter than the other

I normally come a cropper just outside chens internet cafe!

Reminds me of the old joke about the nuns on bicycles taking a short cut to church.

One says to the other, "I've never come this way before."

To which comes the reply, "That'll be the cobbles!"

(don't know why I'm laughing!)...but that is a dodgy bit there. I was walking down from there and just before you go round that corner I just went

But about the CVO cobblers..
I found that I got very fit out there,when we were resident, not just driving over the lumps bumps and dips in road but on a bicycle over the cobbles... good for the 'derriere' too !
That does it..this house is going up for sale this summer!

Don't you fight with phone boxes too Ellie?

I spend more time falling over in Cvo. and I can't blame it on the drink

Talking about riding bikes on cobbles Ellie - well I'm not saying anything

Forgot to mention a friend - walking around a town one day, can't remember whether it was Albufeira but one minute she was there.....the next minute gone.........flat out, glasses skewiff.....she hadn't noticed the tree

Cut nose, broken glasses....who on earth thought about planting trees in pavements

I'd forgotten that Pammie!

..Smilers chairs went flying but they broke my fall(poor chairs

Trees real problem, 20 ft high and 2 ft wide and the way they run around and trip you up ( particularly during early hours of the morning ).

Shoudn,t be allowed.
