I need to replace some windows. I would like to use double glazed windows with wooden frames. Can anyone tell me where I can either buy them or someone who will install them? I am in Sao Bras de Alportel and would be looking preferably for someone in the area from Faro through to Tavira but would look further afield if they could fit my requirements. Thanks

there is fellow in messines who does wooden windows...but always problem with wood is that it is not seasoned here and warps, shrinks etc..have you thought of aluminium windows with wood effect finish.,..believe me its not untill you touch them can you tell the difference

Thanks for that. I had not thought of aluminium windows with a wood finish. Do they really look that good? More information would be appreciated.

If you are looking for a more realistic wod finish then UPVC windows are the answer but do not know if you can get them in the algarve but there is branch of a UK company nr lagoa on the 125.

Aluminium windows are just painted in various shades of brown or with foil coating attached to look like wood.

Really boring sell aluminium extrusions.

yes I think they look really good...the best place to see loads of windows is at the fatacil annual show in august (if you can wait that long)

mestre raposa at guia do windows (very pricey) plus any good alminium windows co will get the profiles and colours you want...you will be amazed how many firms there are here doing windows here.

we had two very large double glazed pationwindows (2 s 3 metres approx) done by firm in tunes . cost about 1300 euros fitted

in lagoa , runs for 8 days usually in last two weeks of august starts about 5 pm runs until 1 am l

There's a small place on the outskirts of Lisbon,that does some windows made of artificial tree wood made to look like PVC with some little scratchs in,very authentic!!!, hope this helps
