wine cellars in villas?
wine cellars in villas?
is it me, but for a wine producing and drinking country I cant say that I have ever seen a villa here with a wine celler (unlike say France):
is it because the wine does not keep, or perhaps more truthfully is it that they drink it too quick!
any comments?

Hi Martin. I do have a Portuguese friend in Alcantarilha with a wine cellar but you are right, this is very rare. I don't think the Portuguese really appreciate their wine. I am sure someone will correct me if they think I am wrong, but most of my Portuguese friends seem to drink beer and think I am weird when I drink wine, other than with a meal. They shriek "vinho" at me, when I ask for it in a bar. I have been to some houses, where they have served wine to me in coca-cola plastic bottles and in a tumbler glass..yuk!!!!
You don't get wine bars down here do you?
Lisboa have a few in the Bairro Alto, which remind me of the ones you get in Italy or Spain.
