what to wear in this weather

coming to cvo tomorrow, can anyone tell me what clothes i'm best to bring with me, as ive only been in the summer and the weather is quite different now and dont think il be needing my bikini?

last winter spent a morning Looking for summer clothes as all we had with us were fleeces and long sleeves.
Definetly need these at night.
If you are Portuguese, bring overcoats, thermal underwear, fleeces, woolly hats, gloves etc as temp will be below 70 f.

We brits are a scource of amusement because as soon as the sun comes out on go the shorts and T shirts.

Currently a N wind and the "real feel" in the shade and at nights makes it seem even colder. Hope your villa/apartment has heating. If not bring a hot water bottle

This isn't as daft as you might think. The beds can be quite cold at night and the water bottle warms it up beautifully.

I have found the winter sun quite warm and I have worn shorts and a tee shirt quite a lot.

At night it can get cold and woolies are essential.

Id have to go along with the clothes thing here..even though my friend Homme Poco has been showing off today (his legs that is)..in shorts prancing round his pool (or was it his BBQ

)..
Last December/& New Year.. I didn't pack warm night clothes (for bed) and forgot hot water bottle..so was draped round the movable radiator most nights!
I ended up buying pygamas in Carvoeiro,they cost me 30 euros!..but seriously, its the tile floors that make the aparts/villas feel cold..so take some warm fleecy slipper as well(managed to think of them)..
but did have nice log fire which was very cosy

..
But pack your shorts & t shirts..cos as Homme Poco says..it can still be sunny paradise during the day

Evening Ellie. All packed now and raring to go.

I was told by a friend here that I'd feel cold in the Sahara but I always find it weird that people wear shorts and t-shirts in Spain and Portugal when it is between 12 to 16ºC. People don't wear shorts in the UK, when it is that temperature, do they? I saw some British tourists at Algarve Shopping one January night, when it was about 5ºC and they were wearing shorts and vests.

I think you have to bring a good selection and wearing layers that are easy to put on and take off is the best thing. As DaveK said on another post, he had ice on his car at Gramacho the other morning but by midday it can be quite warm, if it is sunny.

I agree about the slippers Ellie, I bought myself a pair and left them there last year, ready for this year. They were a godsend at night.

Hot water bottles are a must just to take the chill of the bed when you first get in

I think it's a Brits abroad thing Bruxy. They think that because they have paid all this money for a foreign holiday the last thing they want to do is dress in woollies
