I think that if a Guest has taken the trouble to post on the forum and use the words "how miserable" well I maybe being thick here, but do you not feel that we should try and hopefully get some feed back from this Guest!

What guest? It could be any one - they are anonymous . . . and you know how I feel about non-members posting without responsibility.
I am accused by some of stirring it and mixing it and upsetting everyone in sight - but at least everyone knows it's me. If I posted as a guest no-one could have a go at me for it because they wouldn't know who I was.
Personally I think that guests abuse the site when they make personal comments knowing full well nobody knows who they are. If a member steps over the mark the Mods can bar them easily - a guest justs keeps posting with impunity.

Hi Blue
MC is right up to a point - 'we' were given Chit Chat because of all the off-topic banter, threads descending into idle chat, innuendo and silliness - all harmless fun in the main rather like Chit Chat is now but not what either CVO purists or first time visitors trying to get an idea about CVO wanted to read.
The 'regulars' at the time came in for a lot of criticism (much as has happened recently) and Chit Chat was born so everyone had a place to go if they/we wanted to do their 'thang'. And no-one could criticise that we were chatting about Harry Potter or flirting because people didn't have to read Chit Chat - that sort of thing was no longer popping up in the middle of a thread about water shortages, fires, great days out around CVO etc.
Where my recollection differs from Michael's - and someone could correct me on this - is that, as you say Blue, didn't meant that the main CVO thread was information only - chat about CVO related topics was absolutely fine in the CVO thread (within the boundaries of not allowing descent into banter/silliness/innuendo)
Hope that helps
Maddi
p.s. for newer menbers that may not know - the phrase "banter/silliness/innuendo" refers to how I how I behaved on the CVO thread alongside posting more useful stuff before Chit Chat came along

Thanks Michael & Sharen for your input, but I have to say in all honesty I am still somewhat confused on thisSharen Crane wrote:NR - I think guest was referring to Cowboy's bolding and obvious upset...however of course I could be wrong

For clarification purposes, so people no longer have to wonder about the two sections

Thank you Maddi & Gambrinus, it is as I thought
I just wanted to say that when I have wanted specific information about Carvoeiro I put the question on the property owners section which seems logical to me as presumably they have more experience of life out there than the rest of us, and I am very grateful for the advise and help I have been given.

Since when did Chit Chat become known as the hate and bait section
This forum seems to be really getting out of hand with personal attacks-thats my opinion anyway and it's not an incentive to register.
