I hope you weren't referring to me with your comments tbbr?.. I was simply answering H.Ps question on a certain flowering hedge and to the guest who spoke about Oleanders!
The fact that I wasn't logged on was a mistake but I did put my name!
In actual fact..particularly if you have a small garden in a region like Algarve which suffers drought conditions..its sensible to have a gravel or paved garden to save on water. Rather than try to keep a pristine lawn.
Patio gardens with pots /containers are very attractive.

But the whole point of my qustion re lawns are there are certain types of grass which are very hardy and drought resistant.

I dont want a prestine lawn.

Please do not put us all in the same "box"

Hi Guest,

Please don't judge one stupid person, by the majority who post on the forum.Why don't you consider joining as a member.

By the way with 2 large G.Shephards I hardly want a prestine lawn.
Besides if you have ever read any of my postings when I am not mucking about you will know that like you I hold the environment which of course includes the saving of water in the Algarve high on my list.
Also like you I merely want a tough covering of grass that will not require much water and therefore, natural to the area.

We need people like you on the forum, so please rethink and post again, otherwise we end up with the moron above,who has nothing better to do in trying to be funny...pity he or she has failed

Im sorry but I simply don't get what guest is on about? and why he/she is saying they won't post again?
The question of suitable grass seemed to be from my knowledge,well answered by Nightrider?
and all I added was, that if you have a small garden it seems a better idea to have gravel or paved area?
I only speak from experience as a working gardener in that small lawns can be more trouble than they're worth.
If you gave a name guest,we might be able to distinguish one guest from another....even its only signed Fred/Joe/Daisy whatever..
or better still..join us as a member,you'd be most welcome

I agree with what I believe your saying i.e. in that what we have here is more than one Guest and one up to a bit of mischief. I also agree with you that it is impossible to make out on ocassion who is saying what in reply when there are more than one Guest posting and all just posting under GUEST i.e. instead of by way of example Guest Fred whatever. I can see why some of the older members feel it is better if everyone is a registered member.

As for the Mischief Guest he had better watch out my Planning Permit for my Cauldron finally arrived a moment ago by Wells Fargo Bat and I busy making potions at the moment

I have already sent a very special potion to the Recipe Corner and would you believe for mud which another member requested me to do today. I think you may like it, so its worth a look and also in the Happy Hour
