If it is true for those who rent or are in the tourist business it can only be GOOD news.
If as so many state the algarve cannot compete with turkey and other eastern european destinations it NEEDS something like this to keep it place in the leisure market.
Sad for those who live in the vicinity but not for the many hundreds it will employ who will benefit from the boost to the economy.

I would appreciate it if you could kindly confirm that I am correct with the location under discussion:-
From Silves heading towards Algoz, through Algoz town.. turn right towards Guia and through built up area coffee shop on left and at the end more or less on the right hand side a restaurant and then open areas each side with a very large disused and what appears to be some form of former factory block of offices on the right.....is this the location of the cement factory?

so I was led to believe....but I have no second confirmation....
with this development ..would any investors like to join me in digging a metro link for the algarve.....if it gets tooooo bad here we can always use it to escape......I have produced forged Argentinian papers (thats where the tunnel ends)..I will be disposing of the digging out every morning via holes in my trouser pockets.....forgot that to say that the theme park want that red blockwork building on top of Silves taken down and shifted to their new ride attraction "super piri piri mountain helter skelter"

I have got a better idea on what and whom I would like to dig a hole for and stuff them all in and we can always get several JCB's to remove ....I agree that ugly ugly red brick building in Silves.... and that too can be stuff down the hole.
We are presently trying to acquire any "concrete" information with regard to what appears to be at the moment speculation. However, I agree that sometimes locals are a good source of information...earlier today I contacted the home of a neighbour who has just been elected onto Silves Camara, but is in the Uk until Monday....as soon as we have anything more solid...I will post on the forum.
As for Castle Properties LDA:-

I.e. legislation dictacts that if any registered estate agent sells a property, their full title, address and Licence has to appear on the Escritura (deed).

we have been busy digging tonight.....got as far as the front gate....these pesky theme park guards with their flood-lights

Well if they are....the above first two telephone numbers are unavailable and if you go into pt118's directory enquiries and Yellow Pages the only number that now appears is for Silves!!

well you surprise me...I know the office in albuferia and I know that they have wanted to open in Silves for some time...so dont know why the only quoted number is for Silves...a real puzzle!
anyway their relevance to this matter of the theme park is only relevant to the reference made concerning the new atlantis park (no reference to mgm studios..dare I question are there going to be TWO theme parks...atlantis and mgm!!)...but as the front page of the weeks news advises ..it would appear to have gone past the stage of just an idea.
