I was under the impression the forum was a medium to talk about Carvoeiro. Why is it that it seems to be used more and more as a chat room. I find it very time wasting reading through so much rubbish searching for meaningful tips, experience and advice on Carvoeiro topics. Surely some of you out there have better things to do with your time. Lets keep the forum as it was intended. I am sure there are people out there who agree with me?

You will be wont be pleased to know Karen, that despite doing everything I can to answer sensible, questioning posts with sensible and constructive answers, I actually enjoy the banter and chat that this forum can generate and whilst I acknowledge that not all of it is relevant, you can make a choice about whether or not you bother to read anything "off topic".
I have just come in from a great night out, and your post and the follow up one from Heini has just ruined my evening - and whilst I am sure that you couldn't care less and Heini too for that matter - I think it is very sad.
Maddi (feeling desperately hurt although grateful for Gerry's tacit support)

Maddi, that is just it, very often you dont' have a choice. The topic starts off with a question about L'Orange Restaurant (or A Gale) and before you know it your are in the middle of some banter or seroius discussion about smoking, that is more than "off topic". There are numerous examples. As Karen said the forum(s) are set up to exchange information, ask questions and receive answers and tap into the wealth of information the users are always so willing to share. I certainly enjoy the odd tongue in cheek post but I do get very frustrated when a topic gets so utterly out of hand. I usually keep quiet and do my Evard Munch "The Scream" here in Canada where none of you can hear meyou can make a choice about whether or not you bother to read anything "off topic".
heini, i re-read the whole thread, and it started with rob's lament over a moment of whatever he lost because he had an early flight...i didn't see a location or a menue (men-u in texas) mentioned on any in any of the posts...are you sure you are on the right thread?
BTW, do you think maddi could get a paying gig there?
