Read any good books lately?
Ellie, "Farewell to France" is by Noel Barber.
Have any of you read "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden? I would welcome other peoples' views, I found it compelling.
Gerry, I do believe I would get something of a kick out of reading banned literature out loud in dulcet, middle class tones in a bar, it smacks of being outlandishly salacious and controversial. It would feel great to "buck" the establishment (good god, just remembered I am the establishment - darn and blast)

Thanks for asking about "Algarve Shorts"--there was a little hold up for couple weeks as the publishers revamped their site. But just had thumbs -up for recent chapters --and am working hard on next lot--have only completed about 20,000 words and final count has to be at least 50,000--of course I have many stories written but they havetobe "filled out" and a little embellished to satisfy publishers!willcertainly let you know when theyre on site to read.

Ive just finished reading a great book called Out of the dark By Linda Caine & Dr Robin Royston. Its the true story of Linda's fight against depression with the help of her Doctor who interprets her dreams to find out the cause of her depression. Its a facinating book and not as heavy going as you might think, i would highly recommend it.

Well yis can be as outlandshly salacious(hure of a word to spell) and controversial as you like but if your goin to that !!!to the establishment yis better learn how to spell it.

James Patterson - have to be read in order - else you completely blow it, do not pick one up casually in the hotel book drop, because if it is recent and you enjoyed it so you want to read more, then you have the denoument, which does rather take the edge of the preceeding books (or possibly even make them a complete waste of time) - very clever though once you know!!

p.s. just read that back to myself and really does only make sense to someone who has read all the books and in the right order!!

hi how are yis,
hallo to you too loretta,whats this with the jimmy thing ,we,re getting kinda familiar are,nt we, i,ll bet neither of you have ever read "jimmys" work mind you i can,t say i blame you it,s hard going ,read aloud the molly bloom thing is just so raunchy no kidding.
The story with the cat ok.About 3 yrs i got two irish wolfhounds, pups,kinda to keep straglers out of the garden you know tinkers etc,lets be honest their the worlds largest dog , bright easy to train, ferocious hunters, savage adversaries,intensely loyal, all of which qualities made them ideal for..................laying around the bloody garden.I think they got their security training at the mahatma gandhi school of passive resistance,i have to feed then seperatley or the three cats(quite small)would have the lot it really is so embaressing ,i think the guy who sold them to me only put my name on the receipt because he couldn,t spell gobshite, so now when the cats get bored they terroise the dogs ,as if their self esteem isnt low enough.

What a story --just read your tale of "life with 2 hounds & 3 moggies!" -and the scene you conjure up had me in hysterics !
You really ought to take up writing yourself --or get Steen to give you a spot on here --maybe call it "Life in a Menagerie!"
I cant get out of my mind of two massive wolfhounds being harrassed by 3 small pusscats!
what on earth do you do with that small "zoo" when you go to CVO?
Or do you have kind neighbours?
Do keep us up to date with your irish animal tales--great craic --as Rod and Mike would say!
