La Bella Vita

Post by Gambrinus »

The new retaurant on Algarve Clube Atlantico opened its doors a few weeks ago and as we had already heared a few people ranting about how good it was, we decided to give it a try.

The restaurant itself is very stylish, beautifully set in the middle of the Club beside the pool and lawn area (it even has a seaview). It has direct access to the kiddie play area and the mini golf. The tables are well spaced out and the seats are extremely comfortable - tablecloths, cloth napkins uniformed waiters, all in various shades of red and burgundy to remind you of the selection of fine wines they have to offer.

The head waiter greeted us at the door and showed us to a table by one of the many large windows.
The service from that point was top notch - attentive and friendly, the staff made us feel like we had already been there a dozen times.

The couvert was warm bread, butter, pizza bread with garlic and a small plate of antipasti - all fresh, all very tasty.

Seafood cream soup, pasta with truffles, calamari in spicy tomato sauce and lamb chops with peppermint (I am getting hungry just typing this) were all perfectly presented, very well prepared and the quantities left nothing to be desired for.

For desert (no idea where we found space to put that) the chef prepared a speciality of mango cream, lemon sorbet on strawberry mousse and chocolate mousse in thin slices of pineapple.

Rounded off with a coffee the whole meal including drinks left us more than satisfied and set us back no more than €45 per head.

5* all around.

Sounds great G, Do I need a babysitter for this one?

Hi Tricky!

The playarea and the large lawn is great to let the kids run loose after dinner while you sit outside by the pool (fenced off from the play area) and sip a Martini. (excuse me while I get out of these wet clothes and slip into a dry Martini)

Hey PPic

we are out in two weeks also. Lets do our bit for the Algarve and only drink G & T's, wine and beer - and do without the water. It will be tough
but I'm prepared to give it a go :D

I've just returned from a property hunting trip to CVO and whilst there we decided to try the new restaurant at Clube Atlantico. It was superb to say the least! The food was excellent, the staff were extremely polite and helpful and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will most certainly be going back and will have no hesitation in taking our children next time (6&9 years). :)

Just in case people are getting confused, the name of this restaurant is La Bellavista - not La Dolce Vita. We went last week. Very nice place, good food but the staff all seemed to have been trained by Uriah Heap - all very 'umble and too attentive in my view.

Just wondering if it will be open in February-March when we make our annual visit? In past this location has been closed in winter.

Telephone 282 358556

Excellent restaurant. Chef is Andrea Fusco, Italian who worked in Germany I believe. Very good indeed.
