Removal companies
We are shortly moving to the ALgarve and looking to compare prices on Removal companies. We have some costings from AIM but are looking for comparisons....can anyone recommend or say which ones they have had a problem with and best to avoid. Thanks in anticipation

Re: Removal companies
I do not like actually recommending companies and the like. But we where reasonably pleased with a UK based company Robert Darville, the quote also fair compared to others etc. We also for a short while stored with them...not ourselves of course :Anonymous wrote:We are shortly moving to the ALgarve and looking to compare prices on Removal companies. I would seriously suggest a fixed price based on them viewing what needs to be moved unless you like surprises.
We had 42m3 to shift but this expanded into 52m3 once it was loaded into the lorry and, after taking about 15m3 out the rest fitted easily into a 32m3 storage unit.
Caused a bit of bad feeling and an extra cost of around £800 reduced on appeal (or refusal to pay!).
This was with one of the firms who advertise regularly in the Resident.

robert darvall was taken over and eventally became aim...take care that when you get cheaper quotes they include all insurances etc..i have used aim three times in 15 years..same people work there which to me is always a sign of a reliable business..not so for many of the cowboys who are here today and gone tommorrow
