Driving to Porto

We're in Carvoeiro in a couple of weeks and are considering visiting friends in Porto. Does anyone know how practical this is, in a day for instance? We'll have a car but perhaps train or bus might be more practical? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

if you want to drive it'll take you about five hours including resting time, or if you decide to take a bus or train you can check time tables on this site www.cp.pt or www.eva-bus.com for buses, have a nice trip.....
