Having just returned from Carv. i thought i should review the above restaurant as my experience appears to be similar to others.
Having reserved a table by telephone earlier in the day i duly arrived on time to be greeted by a miserable looking waiter who could find no record of my booking and as such advised me that i would have to sit inside the retaurant as despite there being numerous tables available outside these where not laid out for diners.
I had promised my wife a romantic evening which unfortunatley started with me standing my ground and insisting on sitting outside without trying to draw too much attention in the good old fashioned English way.
The attitude of the waiter and to be honest all the front house staff was one of nose in the air supremacy. This restaurant whilst very nice in it's presentation made myself and my wife feel very unwelcome something that was quite the opposite to any of the other places we ate that week.
Advice to staff smile and welcome, and advice to diners stand your ground!!

Obviously we've been down this road many times with this restaurant. But Nyall's comments seems to concur with others, including my own "unpublished" ones.
