Confused - income tax
Dear Carvoeirians,
Could I kindly ask you intelligent souls out there for a bit of help with regard to declaring income for tax...
If one was to theoretically earn around Euro 40,000.00 (Gross) what regime would be best to go under.
I am a resident - first year and provide a service wherby I pay 21% IVA and the only thing I can deduct is my phone bill.
I don't really understand what the accountant has told me as it all seems to be lost in her portuguese explanation. All I think I know is that the simplified regime assumes that a third of your income is expenses and you are taxed as normal on the balance.
I have no comprehension of what the other rgime is all about
Any help or referal to anyone who speaks English and is a tax specialist would be great
I have tried to work it out but I guess I must be thick
Great forum by the way, glad I found it.
Best Wishes
Su
