Casa Palmeira

Post by Thunderbolt »

Now I have never been or heard about this restaurant but my Dad went there last night and was very impressed.

He said the food was very nice and very good value and they did specialities such as Tamboril and Arroz de Marisco

Has anyone heard of it or been there? I am definitely going to go and try it out.

It's in Rua do Cerro which is behind Monte Dourado from what I can gather.

It's in the same road that runs off restaraunt hill and pass the market. Go pass the market and it's about 150yds further on the left. Let me know because that's the nearest one to our villa and not all reports have been that good.

Hi!

We've been there quite a few times. Food and service IMHO are good. Arroz de Marisco is my favourite though not quite easy to handle

Cheers, Burkhard.

That's a favourite with us too - and codfish cataplana. They will prepare a cataplana for one person quite happily.

Yes, and they are one of the few restaurants that'll do that - my wife doesn't like cataplana - so I look for single person cataplanas... :)

I have been there on several occasions and have never been disapointed. Ive also seen a few locals eat there which i always think is a good sign. We will be in CVO in Aug and will be visiting again.

Went there last night and I loved it!

I like the street it's in, the setting, the lovely terrace and most of all the food.

We had Arroz de Marisco and it was very well served and excellent.

I found the prices very reasonable and the service was good too.

I would definitely recommend it to people.

This is our nearest restaurante, nice walk - no hills to climb - and we have always enjoyed our meals there.

Palmeira is my favourite restaurant too. Nice quite genuine food,
reasonable prices, very friendly service and more relaxing then
the places down the road.

Also good for children as there´s plenty of space.
